Performance and Satisfaction of Work as Characteristics of Human Capital (Comparative Analysis of Some Indicators of Human Capital in Several Balkan Countries)
Abstract
The paper analyses the role of such elements of human capital as performance and satisfaction of work for its further improvement. It is indicated that due to its complex nature human capital is a core element in many sides of development. Basic results of a survey of human capital carried out in Turkey, Bosnia and Bulgaria are discussed. The multifarious effects of human capital are analyzed indicating in particular the specific functions of performance and satisfaction of work in its growth. From this perspective the authors look for a broader vision of the role of satisfaction of work and its link with the performance to improve the skill and knowledge regarded as basic indicators of human capital. The conclusion is that despite regional differences the performance and satisfaction of work are highly correlated with the income and the social setting within the team the respondents work.
