    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Multicultural Curriculum as a Solution to Racist Movements at Schools]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[This paper examines the importance of developing multicultural curriculum to curb the raising racist trends in the word. Since September 11, there has been an upsurge of racist and religious extremism in different parts of the world. One proactive measure that might be taken toward racism is creating a classroom atmosphere to reduce prejudice through mutual dialogue between different races and religions. Students must be properly informed about racial problems and their colossal effects such as wars and ethnic clashes. Personal experiences of authors also provide solid examples of racist prejudices. The article ends with a conclusion that shows directions for teachers and school how to effectively address racist problems in their schools. ]]></dcterms:abstract>

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Multikulturalizam i problem identiteta]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[Jedan od temeljnih entiteta koji egzistiraju u promišljanjima o odnosima pojedinca, kulture i društva u svakoj multikulturalnoj sredini jeste identitet. Identiteti su u savremeno doba ambivalentna, heterogena, kontekstualna i dinamična kategorija. Potrebno je stoga imati u vidu i kompleksnost njegovog pojma kojeg sačinjavaju individualni, društveni, etno-nacionalni, kolektivni i druge vrste identiteta. Važnost pitanja identiteta, a posebno etno-nacionalnog, potvrđuju nedavna turbulentna dešavanja na Krimu, kao i neprovođenje presude za slučaj Sejdić i Finci te hrvatsko pitanje koji su zasigurno najistaknutiji  problemi  bosanskohercegovačke političke stvarnosti. U radu ćemo se baviti pitanjem identiteta u multikulturalnim društvima, njegovim najznačajnijim pojavnim formama kao i problemima kojima se bavi politika identiteta suočavajući se sa zahtjevima za priznanjem različitih identitetskih skupina. U radu će biti prezentirana teorijska razmatranja Bhikhu Parekha, Charlesa Taylora, Willa Kymlicke, Briana Barrya kao i ostalih relevantnih teoretičara.]]></dcterms:abstract>

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Multikulturalizam, interkulturalizam i interkulturalni dijalog u kontekstu europskih integracija]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[Multikulturalizam i interkulturalizam, aktualni su i važni, znanstveno - teorijski i praktičko - politički pristupi kulturnim raznolikostima, kako u kontekstu Europske unije („jedinstvene u različitosti“), tako i Bosne i Hercegovine (BiH), i njenog pridruživanja Europskoj uniji (EU). O relevantnosti međunarodnih rasprava o kulturnim raznolikostima najbolje govore službeni dokumenti i deklaracije UNESCO-a i Vijeća Europe u kojima se kulturna raznolikost promovira kao resurs održivog razvoja, te faktor integracije, uključivanja i mira. Pri tome se interkulturalni dijalog ističe „kao ključ za budućnost Europe“, što je relevatno i za BiH jer istovremeno uvažava njenu kulturnu raznolikost, ali i naglašava dijalošku dimenziju njene multikulturalnosti. Naposljetku, poštivanje kulturne, vjerske i jezične raznolikosti, manjinskih prava i kulturnih prava, kao i mjere protiv rasizma, ksenofobije itd., sastavni su dio pregovaračkog poglavlja o „Pravosuđu i temeljnim ljudskim pravima“, u cilju usklađivanja zakonodavnog i institucionalnog okvira država koje pregovaraju o pristupanju Europskoj uniji, s pravnom stečevinom EU.]]></dcterms:abstract>

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Multikulturalnost – prednost ili prepreka?]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[Pod pojmom multikulturalnost podrazumijeva se poticanje građana da priznaju i prihvate u potpunosti etnokulturne raznolikosti, običaje, tradiciju i druge posebnosti koje egzistiraju u multietničkom društvu. No, multikulturalizam nije samo teorijski okvir kojim se kulturna raznolikost doživljava kao društveno bogatstvo, već je i politički okvir za izgradnju društvenih odnosa u kojima različite kulture mogu slobodno razvijati svoje vlastite identitete, istodobno sudjelujući i u jačanju zajedničkih društvenih i kulturnih institucija.    Razvoj demokratskog društva u Bosni i Hercegovini donio je i neke neželjene pojave poput one gdje su građani pozvani odabrati strane, utvrditi što ih razdvaja, a ne ono što ih ujedinjuje. U društvima u kojima nije razvijena mreža slobodnih lokalnih institucija ili nema razvijenih institucija civilnog društva, prva razlika koja se najčešće uočava nije bogatstvo, klasa ili društvena funkcija, već je to nacionalnost.     Promjene koje se događaju na ovom prostoru, kao i promjene povezane s globalizacijom neizbježno dovode do novih oblika etničkih kontakata i potreba za unutarnjim promjenama. Etnički animoziteti najvjerojatnije će biti prisutni na ovom području još izvjesno vrijeme, no država bi trebala biti ta koja će imati dovoljnu snagu za osmišljavanje politike koja će ih nadvladati. Multikulturalizam može biti djelatan kao osnova za društvenu koheziju i integraciju, ali ne može biti jedini put koji će tu koheziju, povezanu s etničkim razlikama, tvoriti. Unatoč prisutnim problemima, potrebno je formulirati određeni skup politika i programa koji će omogućiti upravljanje ovim etnički i kulturno raznolikim društvom, te će uvažavati i društveni kontekst i ciljeve države i njezinih građana.]]></dcterms:abstract>

    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[The topic of this work is multilingualism in Prizren region. Prizren is the second largest city in  Kosovo and largest cultural centar of Kosovo. The city it self has around 100 000 residents but its  surrounding is very large. Ethnical and linguistical picture is dominantly Albanian, but, Prizren is different  concerning that matter. In Prizren there are many people and many nations and multiple languages are  spoken (Albanian, Serbian – Croatian, Turkish, Roman, etc).All of this showes the fact that Prizren is a  multinational and multilinguistical place. In our work we have showed that. It is clearly shown that a large  number of young people from mentioned area know and learn other official languages, which is a  characteristic of area like this one is. We have shown and described types of biligualism that are found in a  mentioned area as well as a prevalence of bilingualists.     <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Multisensory approach of BBC&#039;s program Muzzy in teaching foreign  languages to young learners]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[Muzzy is a linguistically recognized and multiple award-winning multimedia  program for teaching and learning foreign languages. The British Broadcasting  Company (BBC) initially created an animated movie entitled Muzzy in  Gondoland (1986) with the purpose of teaching English as a second or foreign  language to children. Three years later, BBC released its sequel, entitled Muzzy  comes back. It was supposed to be used for teaching only English language, but  due to the movies&#039; remarkable effects on young learners&#039; English language  acquisition, the movie was redesigned into a program Muzzy used for teaching  not only English, but also many other languages worldwide. The essence of  Muzzy lies in its fun and multisensory approach to language acquisition,  presenting languages in meaningful context and stress-free environment. The  focus of this research is on the analysis of the program&#039;s linguistic aspects,  including linguistic components and benefits in cognitive terms, as well as on  the introduction of its main concept. The procedures and manner in which  Muzzy has been used in young learners&#039; classrooms for more than 25 years  now are specifically emphasized.]]></dcterms:abstract>

In spite of these movies’ initial aim to teach exclusively English language, due to their remarkable success in young learners&#039; English language acquisition, the movies have been redesigned into an educational program shortly entitled Muzzy. Nowadays, it is used for teaching not only English, but also many other languages worldwide. The essence of Muzzy lies in its entertaining and multisensory approach to language teaching and learning, presenting the linguistic items in meaningful context and stress-free environment. The research paper focuses on the way this program operates in terms of its main concept, and the analysis of the program&#039;s linguistic and cognitive aspects and components, as well as how the program deals with some common acquisition barriers.]]></dcterms:abstract>
